Boys Day Out

The boys (all 4) have been taking turns keeping mamma up at night (coughing, crying, etc) so we decided to get out of the house this morning for a little museum trip.
Arlo n Otis know their way around, and barely even need daddy along to get to where they are going.
We took in an iMax presentation of Walking With Dinosaurs.  It got scary at one part for the boys, but a minute in the lobby, and we went back in to watch the happy ending.
Snack time!
Otis gives Ozzy a little goodnight snuggle.😚
Here are two random shots from our family fun Friday trip to the bowling alley.  Otis and Arlo both believe in pointing as an effective form of body language to get the ball where you want it.  Too cute!

Snow friends

Rob, Nicole, Quinn and Cole came for the weekend.  It was a great visit, and we got outside for some snowman building despite the rain.

Daddy cries when it's empty too.

Arlo and Otis hit the slopes

After The record snow on Tuesday, Wednesday looks like a beautiful day at the ski slopes. After school the whole family headed out to Camp Fortune, where we found out that the only learner hill open was the most flat and least exciting one. After just one run on this the boys were inspired to try the chairlift for the first time. The chairlift was exciting but even more exciting was watching the boys tear down the hill, not wanting any help from daddy, and not having a single problem with wiping out along the way. There are lots of laughs and lots of fun. Check out this video.

Winterlude wonder

It was a snowy and blowy afternoon, but that made it perfect for our family fun Friday.  We found the snow slides pretty empty of people, likely scared away by the impending cold temperatures, so we took full advantage of the situation.  We were up and down the ice slides with no waits in line, so the boys put in 20 runs and even a couple on the tube slides.  Everyone got into the action, even Oscar (who might have enjoyed it the most based on his squeals).  My iPhone told me afterwards that we climbed over 20 stories, so it was no wonder that the boys slept well afterwards!  Both Arlo and Otis took Ozzie on the Inuit kick sleds, and did a great job.  Of course we finished it all off with beaver tails.  Yum!

Grandma in town!

Grandma Brown was in town on a field trip with her class this week, and we got a chance to meet up with her today.  We met at the Canadian History Museum, where there was a special Thomas exhibit that Oscar and Arlo really enjoyed.
