Bathtime Otis!

 Whaddaya doing to me?
Arlo enjoyed Otis' first bath much more than he did himself.  He found it hard to beleive that he used to bath in the kitchen sink too.
Cute baby pieces!

Visitors Part One

Arlo and Otis had their first visit with Grandma and Grandpa Kalynuk on the Wednesday after Otis was born.  Arlo loved having grandparents around to play with and give him attention, and the grandparents really enjoyed getting to meet Otis Ray.

Ahhhh....Enjoying some downtime!

Happy Birthday Arlo

Arlo has been watching his daddy put together this all week long, and celebrated his second birthday today by bringing his sand toys over to break in his brand new sand box.  As you can see, he loved it.
To help celebrate his special day, Arlo's friend Lucy came by, with her baby brother Harry, and parents John and Natasha, for a play in the backyard, some dinner in the backyard, and to enjoy his first serious encounter with a thunderstorm.  (he did not enjoy that at all really)

This wasn't today, it was a few days back, but it is now one of Arlo's favourite pasttimes.  Nothing cools you off on a summer day like a drink from the sprinkler!
A little family time on the birthday.

Happy Easter

Spring is here, and it is time to try our hand at bike riding. Here Arlo is checking out his new wheels, wearing his Easter bike helmet. The tricycle is a classic three wheeler that his mamma got from the basement of her school. Great for cruisin the hood on a sunny afternoon.

Arlo loves the bike path across from his house. He especially loves running up and down the little hills that line the path, picking up the seeds and sticks that are there. His dad is thinking of getting him an orange vest and seeing if the city will pay for his work.

Hippity Hoppity Easter fun!
Happy Easter to everyone!

Spring Break!

I'd like to sing a little song about the holidays....
Arlo is enjoying some time home with his folks to just hang out. Here he is taking a break to belt out some tunes on his mandolin...

Warm weather and melting snow means more chances to roam the neighbourhood and get dirty!

Dirty hands are easy to deal with, just rub them off on my coat!

Finally I can get my wheels on the road again. Perfect weather to cruise, I just need to make sure that my folks have enough energy to keep me rolling.

Hello sunshine!!!

Hey, the bag says 'all purpose flour' so why not as a chair?

Doing Big Boy Things

Arlo is getting ready for his new role as a big brother by doing lots of big boy things. He asks for seconds and thirds of raisin bran, and gets all the drops of milk by himself. When his friend Quinn came for the weekend (with her Mamma and Daddy Nicole and Rob) Arlo had a blast hanging out, and enjoying winterlude fun. Maybe he was a bit too much of a big boy at times, as he and Quinn spent a lot of time smooching over the weekend!!!

Arlo's Domain

Well, it has been a long time coming. Since moving in August we have been up to our eyeballs in renos, trying to get the basement in shape. We had thought that it was finished and ready for Arlo and Daddy to enjoy when we bought the place, but then found out that the previous owners had allowed cats to roam free and pee everywhere, so....we had to rip it all out and start from scratch. That was probably for the better anyhow, as we made a ton of improvements, including the build in for the tv and entertainment unit. Now there is plenty of room for Arlo and his future sibling to roam around in....

A message for Grandma

The picture says it all. Arlo was creative last year while on vacation at the beach in NZ.

I am Happy and I Know It!

January 17 (tomorrow) is Arlo's Grandma K's birthday. He can't count high enough to get to her actual age (in truth he only counts to about ten, and even then it isn't all that clear), but he can sing. It might not be 'happy birthday' but it is one of his good songs, and he does some great moves to go with it. Happy Birthday Grandma! Enjoy the video.

Here are some more videos from tonight. He woke today with a cold, and was sent home from daycare with a fever, so he has been pretty lethargic. The most energy he showed was for some singing and dancing that he did with his mamma and his daddy. He has a fever allright...dance fever!
