Lindsay - day 2

On the Friday  week ago we all got dressed up to say our final goodbyes to grandma GG, and then drive in the procession out to Downeyville for the funeral.  Death is a part of life, and he boys were really interested in seeing grandma GG's "deadness" (as Arlo put it).  They spent a bit of time at the parlour, then we headed to the Downey family farm while everyone went into the church for the service. They clean up really well, but there is only so long you can keep them still for.  At the farm we jumped on the trampoline, explored the barns, and swung on the tire swing.  Fun times!

Trip to Lindsay- day 1

A week ago we travelled to Lindsay to attend Great Grandma Richards' funeral services.  It was a sad time for the family, but the boys managed to enjoy the trip overall.  They got to see both sets of grandparents, and they hung out with their cousin Olsen for two days in a row.  The three of them caused some chaos I will say!

Arlo's 6th Birthday Party

Yesterday was a super day!  Arlo wanted s superhero party, so we found a few local hero wannabes, and trained them all up to take on the bad guys..
It took some work, but we whipped them into shape, and they eventually earned their capes.  There was a serious face challenge called "joker face", pin the star on the shield, strength training while popping balloons and carrying out some physical feats (hopping on one foot, wheelbarrows, log rolls, etc), target practice with their very own captain America shield frisbee a, and finally a kryptonite collecting obstacle course.  They then had to defeat the supercollider, Black Jaques Shellack, with their stockpile of kryptonite water balloons.  They were victorious, and the party was a success.  The morning turned to an afternoon of sunny fun, and then it was an evening of fireworks, with Otis finally coming in at 10pm when they were all over.  It was a long and fun day!
