Mountains and Penguins

Arlo didn`t notice the clouds or the rain, he was just getting into the swing of this travelling thing when we headed to Twizel in the Mt Cook area on Wednesday.
Rain and cloud made the peaks tough to pick out, but we did a little trek to the Tasman glacier, and the lake that is forming from it`s meltwater. This is one of the dozen or so icebergs that have calved from the glacier and now float in it`s waters.

The view up Lake Tekapo, with some of the Southern Alps in the background.
Arlo and Mama on the lookout for yellow eyed penguins coming ashore

Here comes a little yellow eyed penguin heading to it`s nest, and probably hoping to hook up with it`s mate. It looked like tiring work surfing ashore.
