Lest We Forget

The Boyz and their mamma headed on down the path (that runs right across the street from their house) to catch the Remembrance Day ceremony this past Nov 11.  They were going to take in the event, pay their respects to the fallen, and those who served, and to watch their daddy and his School of Rock choir perform.  Though the 85+ member group performed in a morning ceremony, indoors, with over 50 ukeleles, ten violins, and a dozen guitarists, the cold and wet afternoon meant that the students were just singing while daddy played guitar, and two other teachers played violin and uke.  It was a great local ceremony, attended by half a dozen local MPs, MPPs, and the mayor.  Arlo and Otis were photographed for a local newspaper as they placed the wreaths they made on the cenotaph after the ceremony.  The photo below is the one from the paper, and the article can be found at the kitchessippi times website.  Arlo came through the crowd during the ceremony to find his daddy, and he watched from daddy's arms, which made it an extra special event for them both, to get that time together in the school day.

Bath time 4 the Boyz

Bath time isn't always the easiest with the two boys in the tub, and mommy n daddy crammed in the bathroom with them, but most of the time it is pretty cute to see Arlo n Otis playing together and winding down their days with some warm water n bath toys.

Blast Off

The boys took a trip to Jupiter today.  Arlo is getting pretty good at counting backwards.  Silly Otis can't stay in his seat for a whole ride through space.  Maybe one day he'll sit for the trip with his brother.

Burning off the Halloween buzz

The boys were well into some yard work when daddy came home.  Every leaf was transported at least twice before they bagged it.  Lots of fun, and work, and running, and laughing.  They sure love yard work and getting their hands dirty.  They certainly take after their parents.
Halloween was a fun day for everyone.  Arlo woke up expecting daddy to stay home because it was Halloween...and he wanted his costume on right at breakfast time.  He managed to last out the day, even did a swim lesson before dinner.  As soon as he was done gobbling down two helpings of spaghetti (a lot for him for dinner) he had his plate to the kitchen, his face Nd hands washed, and was into his costume.  The funny thing was that he plunked himself down in his costume T the bowl of candy (to hand out) a d started opening up treats because he figured that was what was going to happen.  Funny guy.
The boys held out for about a half hour of trick or treating in the light rain.  It was right to bed for Otis after that, but Arlo took an hour or more loner than usual to settle.  Arlo and Otis both really enjoyed the day.
