Mamma's Day

On the day Arlo's Mamma went into labour she spent an afternoon doing some gardening around the house, so, in celebration of that, she and Arlo spent Mother's day digging in the dirt and doing some gardening once again.

Mother's Day Wishes

Arlo wasn't able to talk to either of his Grandmas on Mother's Day, but he sent along his best wishes for the day. He spent most of his day hanging with his Mom, in the backyard.

Happy Easter from Arlo

Arlo is enjoying his first experiences with Easter. He hopes that all of his friends and family are being spoiled by the Easter Bunny. His Grandma and Grandpa K. are way down south visiting Memphis, New Orleans, and Texas, and he is missing them, but he is sure that they are having a great Easter.
Arlo is having a hoppy Easter weekend. A quick trip to Lindsay to visit his Mamma's family, and then home to see if the Easter Bunny left him anything...

Too serious to smile for the camera. This is my eating chair, not my posing chair!

Gifts are fun and all, but someone has to help me with the ribbons and tape!

Splish Splash!

Bath time is one of Arlo's best times of the day.
He's always full of fun in the tub. Dad sometimes gets him a bit too riled up, and bedtime suffers, but boy oh boy can he splash!
I think he is trying to make a point here...
Tasty bath water!
Lucky thing that bedtime follows bathtime!
Hey there!
Rubber Ducky your mmmff!
I bet I can soak mom and dad!
Love the hairdo.
Ducky kisses!
All those toys and you have to play with that?

Water Baby

Arlo sure loves any chance to get wet. Morning sessions on the floor of the shower are fine by him!

This back scrubber is bigger than my whole back!!

Airport reunion

It was a long awaited reunion this past Monday afternoon when Mamma and Arlo returned home from their time away in Toronto. Daddy was waiting at the arrival gate with flowers and a sign to greet them, and he received some big smiles and hugs when they came through.

Going away is nice, but coming home is the best!

Reading Fun

Arlo loves sitting down with a good book. Here he is over the March break hanging with some of his pals, checking out some reading material...
It isn't long before he has to get closer to his pal Bear though. Arlo loves to squeeze Bear tight, and typically he plants big wet kisses on his nose.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

What did they get me up so early for! I haven't even had a chance for my morning nap and we are in the car already!

Oh! I get to go on another airplane! This makes the tenth flight I have been on, and I am only nine months old. I am so lucky!
What do you mean you are not coming with us Daddy? I don't know how I feel about this.
You can take as many pics as you want, I still don't like the idea of saying goodbye to my dad for ten days. What is he going to do without us for all that time? I don't think he can handle it (he is a bit of a softie).
It's time to board. I let daddy know that he has to call every day, and if he feels lonely he can borrow some of my stuffed animals to hang out with. Bye pops. I'll see you soon.

An Afternoon Out

March Break has been a great opportunity to hang out with my Mamma and Papa. One day this week we visited the newly refinished Nature Museum. It was a fun afternoon, and after a good look around we took a stroll on Elgin street. Of course this meant a stop at the Elgin Street Diner for a little snack and some conversation.
Sure I don't get to order off of the menu yet, but look at what I have!
Mamma is full of good advice, and I love listening to her.
Sometimes we just need some quiet time to sit and think about things.

A Little Leprechaun

Arlo got his first taste of the annual celebration of all things Irish here in Ottawa last weekend when he took in the St. Patrick's Day parade on Bank Street. It was a fun little parade (mostly sponsored by the Heart and Crown pubs), with lots of green tinsel and balloons, but it was the marching bands and the horses that caught his attention the most.
Arlo celebrated his first St. Patrick's Day this past week. With a lime green top, and a pair of trousers that would make a golf pro proud, he sure did look ready for the day from the start. He headed out for a stroll with his folks to the market in the afternoon. The market, having roots in the Irish workers who built the Rideau canal over 150 years ago, is pretty much the best place in Ottawa to find people celebrating on March 17th, and sure enough, there were line ups at most of the pubs by four in the afternoon! A brief stop in one of the newest pubs in the area was just enough for Arlo to attract some attention and smiles (we left before anyone mistook him for a real leprechaun and tried to steal his pot of gold). Before leaving he was given a real fun hat from the Keith's beer rep which his daddy made him wear all the way home (that got quite a few laughs and smiles). It was a fun day, and a nice way to spend his last one with his papa before leaving for Toronto.

You might be smiling dad, but I'm not impressed! Get that off my back.
Even Teddy got into the spirit of things.

Stop taking pictures and get down here to play with me!

My First Haircut!!!

Mamma and Dad keep talking about how long my hair has gotten. It has been getting a bit out of hand, and it takes more and more time each day to style, so we decided that it was time to get a trim. We found a great place in town called Goobers, which specializes in haircuts for kids. Even though this tractor looks like fun, I still don't know if this sounds like a great idea. I hear them talking about my hair, but no one is asking my opinion...
As you can see by these before pics, my hair was getting a bit unruly!

I still think that the beach bum look is in right now. I was just working on flipping it out of my eyes with a head jerk like Justing Beiber.

This doesn't seem so bad.

WOW, I can see now!

Where are the keys for this thing?

What are you doing back there?
Who's that good looking guy? Hey, if you leave it like this I can do my hair up like the lead singer from Flock of Seagulls, or Patrick Dempsey in 'Can't Buy Me Love'.

Perhaps it is a grunge look I could go for.

What a patient guy I am...

I think I have some hair in my mouth...
Getting up close...

Hello Front Bangs!

What do you mean it's over? I don't want to get down from my tractor yet!

Time to go and show off my new 'do'.
That wasn't bad at all!
